Holy ground

Several times during Aubrie‘s and now Robbie‘s mission either in conversation with them over the phone or in a message or email I feel like I’m standing on sacred ground listening to them. Like they are seeing a bigger more holy picture than I am currently. Several times this past weekend, people asked me how Robbie is doing and I say “ He’s so happy and he’s doing really good” Because I can’t really put into words how life-changing and transformative the last year has been for him. He has learned to be reverent and truly be “in awe” of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. His connection to Them appears to be so strong and unbreakable. And I can’t put into words how much joy that makes me feel. His relationship with himself, the way he speaks to his siblings and how much love he shows to Ryan and I. As well as the true compassion and enthusiasm, he has for teaching and loving these brand new people that he’s Connecting with. How quickly he shows humility and has faith to do and say very uncomfortable things is just incredible for me to see happening. I’m so grateful to be a parent. It could have not happened in my life and I’m so glad to be this close part of the lives of these 6 beautiful souls.

Thoughts I sent to Aubrie and Robbie from studying this morning:

Reference for sacred things

-Ulisses Soares

-Reverence means to stand in awe

-when reverence becomes a holy part of our character, we level up our discipleship

-Reverence is not an aspect of spirituality. It is the essence of it. (intrinsic nature)

-an absence of respect for sacred things increases a casualness of attitude and carelessness in your conduct

-when we become careless like that, we start caring only about our own comfort and satisfying our own uncontrolled appetite, and ultimately despising sacred things

-he talked specifically about AI generated content and images that will be inappropriate and irreverent. That felt like maybe prophetic. (Not relevant relevant for me now)

-“ reverence is one of the most elevated experiences of the soul” (it made me think of particular feelings I had in the labor and delivery room in the hospital, and some of the more breathtaking vistas I’ve experienced). Immediate reverence and it transports your soul to a different place.

-be protective of sacred things. Don’t be too casual and in doing so create carelessness with sacred and holy things.
