I never want to lose this extra special note that Ryan wrote to me on Mother’s  Day. I’ll post it here.
Yesterday morning at 6:00, Blake, Robbie and Ryan woke up, quickly ate and got dressed and loaded up with Dave, James and Thomas.  Then they all headed out to Stansbury Park (Tooele area--about 35 minutes away) to play a DOUBLEHEADER of baseball.  Karla and I brought the other kids and followed for the second game that started at 10:00.

I loved every minute of it.  I have missed the kids sports soo much.  It felt so normal to be there watching baseball.  No one had masks on.  Everyone cheering and the kids playing their hearts out for their first games.  I enjoyed it alot.  All the kids played well.  They got behind in the first game by 10 runs and the last inning came back to 16-13 and lost by three.  But they kept that momentum going and played great the 2nd game.  THere were 17 hits in that game and they won 18-15.  Blake did so well pitching and won the game at 2 outs and full count finishing with a strikeout.  I love sports and games so much.  And I am glad our kids do to.

Hopefully, Robbie's team can get going too.  I am not sure why they don't have a schedule out yet for him.

We have had Randy and Karen all week at our house.  They slept at Pratts but Karen spent the day at our house every day.  Lots of piano lessons, chime lessons and 2 different nights she did her music workshops with our whole family to show us what R&K have been working on their mission to teach music in Cambodia.  It was really good and very effective.  Hallie's birthday was on Thursday--the big 1-2.  WE made a goldfish pond outside with her (mostly Elliot and Robbie) and all went running at the track (with Pratts) and then we all made tin foil dinners and headed up BC canyon for dinners, night games and smores.  It was the best night.  PRatts joined as well.  We sat around the fire hanging out while kids played.  Even Jacob and Lucas played so well and I think were so glad to be in this HUGE playground :)  Randy made his teriyaki bowls for us for dinner one night and they were delicious.

Also, our neighbor Allen Burnside is a jeweler and after helping him in his yard one day Ryan started talking to him about an anniversary ring for me.  He told him he would do it at cost if he'd like.  Anyway, Ryan told him what we'd wanted to do for the last several years and Thursday I picked up a beautiful new band with 6 diamonds on it from Allen.  It was a mothers day gift.  I love it so much!
On Friday night we had a mini bridal shower for Kayla at Pratts house.  It was mainly Jay and Kayla's immediate female family members, as well as a few aunts, stopped by with gifts (Julie and Sarah Hammond stayed).  It was enjoyable to visit and so fun to get to know Kayla better by getting to know her mom and sister and SIL better as well.  Sarah (Ryan's cousin) gave some advice to Kayla in a game we were playing.

As the person closest to Mike (her husband) here on earth for the entirety of our marriage, I feel like it is my responsibility to help Mike know and feel the way that God knows and feels about him as much as I can.  I have the most opportunity and ability to do that of anyone around him. Heavenly Father sees so only potential in him and loves him no matter what.  I should try to show Mike that as much as I am able.  It really has left me thinking alot.  If not me, then who? What human being on this earth has more opportunity to help God in that toward Ryan, other than me, his wife.  And how am I doing with that?

Aubrie gave some advice that was really good as well.  She had read it in a book she said...

A man on the eve of getting married told his fiance, "about 80% of me is good, and about 20% of me is just weakness and things I struggle with.  If you choose to focus on the 80% of me, I think we will have a very successful marriage.  If you choose to mostly focus on the 20% of me, it will be really hard and complicated. "    Also, great advice and completely true in most cases.

We are in "phase one" of reopening our economy and life from Covid-19.  It still all feels so surreal and at the same time a new normal...maybe.  The CDC has recommended all wear face masks in our country in public places and most are doing it (I hope to never do it nor any of our kids--I think it is a subpar way to handle the whole situation and really is just giving people a way to channel fear.)

Restaurants, gyms, salons, etc are all allowed to soft open--meaning only 15-20 people in places and separated by 6 feet.  I see more and more in our neighborhood or when I have been out driving that people are gathering more and more.

Home Depot has lines out the door every weekend because everyone is in the thick of home/yard projects.   I feel like pretty much every house I pass someone has something going on.

Our schools days:
Get up around 8-9:00 (I have been trying to run in the mornings this past week instead of late afternoon--so its cooler)
9:30-Eat breakfast and then have scripture study
10:30 Do jobs and (sometimes) do piano
11:00-Ish start school and have lunch somewhere in there
(lots and lots of nagging--which I know is much less effective and so annoying but we are stuck In the cycle for sure)
3:00-4:00 finally finish.  (hopefully)
free time
6:00-7:00- dinner
lately jumping on the tramp and playing outside
8:30 drag them to baths and start the process of bedtime
go to bed way later talking in their room and that's, why they can't, get up in the morning

Last Saturday and again this Saturday all the Jensen adults got together at Jay's house and then last night at Liz and Jimmy's parent's house (where they will be living for a bit) to bbq, play games (last night we hot tubbed).  They are fun people to hang out with and it was nice to just talk to adults and be together without taking care of kids. Randy and Karen are here for a few weeks.  Jay and Kayla have decided to be married in Zions on the 22nd of this month.  I think just Randy and Karen and her parents and maybe a few others will go down.  Then they will hopefully be able to be sealed in August and everyone comes into town for that.

All summer activities have been canceled for the season--no FSY, no camps, baseball tournaments, etc.  It could be a loooonnnnng summer :) of doing exactly what we have already been doing for a few months.  Especially with no pools open and everyone will be going to any available body of water ;)

We are still hoping to have both of our Haynie reunions this summer.  I think for sure our immediate reunion will happen up in Driggs.

Ryan and I went on a bike ride/5 Guys date on Friday and finally got to catch up a bit. I feel like with his work schedule and then having so many people and things to do every night we haven't gotten to talk much for a few weeks.
