Blakie Blake

Blake stopped me as I was leaving his room tonight putting him to bed and said, I am studying the Book of Mormon mom, I started.  I want to do it.  I don't really know if what I did was studying but look....

and showed me how he saw two verses kind of talking about the same thing so he linked them.  And that he liked the word "firmament"-- ("I don't even know what it means but I like how it sounds") and so he wrote that he liked it next to it.  And he wondered what the book was that Lehi was shown and if it was the HOly Bible he wanted to write that next to it so I showed him how to cross reference that particular word in Exodus and Revelations (Which didn't clarify what he was wondering) so he could learn to do it on his own too.

Just one of those treasured moments with Blake.

P.s. I think I've mentioned it before but Robbie has been so diligent about reading every night on his own. (And also has been indexing alot since getting started with it during YM's.  He just hit 100 names last week) and tonight piped up and said that he would was only in Mosiah and sounded kind of sheepish.  He said he made a goal to read it all by himself this year.  I think its so awesome.  He is so good at sticking with goals and being consistent.  He is a driven young man.  He started a workout about 1.5-2 years ago that he does at night and he pretty much does it every night and then showers and reads.  It's impressive to me.

Sunday morning, before noon when we started church Luke had...

spilled his cereal, stepped in the milk and ran around

Found two open pocket knives and was running around the backyard with them

screamed his loud screech that we all can hardly function when he does it--50X. its just constant

ran away from Ryan when he tried to get a marker from him and somehow managed to get it on the wall down the hallway and on the front and back of my dress I'd just put on when he was trying to hide in my skirt from Ryan

when Ryan went to bless the sacrament the bread was gone and Luke was in his chair eating it

and a hundred other "normal" Luke ocurrences

The night before we couldn't find Luke until Blake did and he'd gotten Ryan's Ben and Jerry's out of the freezer, gotten himself a spoon, opened the back door and was sitting in our white adirondack chair with the carton, feet propped up and had eaten a third of it (I had to get a picture before we stopped him)

He is so intense and curious.  He wants to know how everything works and comes undone and copies everything he is able to.   HE gives the best squeezes and understands so much.  He is not a snuggler but loves hard.  I am soooo grateful that we have this crazy, fun, loveable toddler in our house even if sometimes I am counting the minutes till bedtime because I am so tired.
