It is such a rare treat to have Calls visit one on one in our home. I was so excited that they came. They were here Thursday night and stayed in Provo that night and then did lots of Provo/BYU and then downtown SLC activities (including with Chad's sister Megan that is married and lives a few blocks from the COnference Center). We met up with them at Pipeline Trail at Milcreek canyon ay 5:00 (where a few days before they had a cougar attack on that trail to two runners--the cougar had been startled and they had to euthanize the cougar). We all hiked for a few hours and got to our turn around spot that overlooks the valley right at the sun starting to set on everything. I love that hike in the fall. Although colors arent really changing yet. We raced back and stopped to grab pizzas on the way home for all the kids and they ate and had a movie night. Robbie, Hallie, Brandon, and Robbie all went to one of Robbies friends hangouts for a few hours. Then Syd, CHad and us went to Vessel (which was a score, Syd has a much harder time finding restaurants that work for the way she eats and Vessel she could eat alot of the things there) and we all just talked and talked about our kids, and jobs and family members. It was so relaxing. We grabbed Handels iceceream on the way home.
Aubrie and two of her roommates Kailisi and Afton, came in late that night on the frontruner (12:15 I think) and we had cots set up for them donwstairs. They are so much fun and really good girls. Kailisi plays rugby for BYU and had just sprained her ankle which is too bad.
Saturday we watched Conference and Calls went in between sessions to go visit his mission president. After the second session all of us girls went thrifting and alot of the boys and younger kids went to go play football at Wheeler Farm. It was such a perfect weather day. WEsley and Amanda came up to join us so we had a full house for dinner and then conference. We played games afterwards and Robbie inadvertendly invited over like 10 kids to do smores which I was mad about since we already had like 25 people at our house. Aubrie backed up on her way to Walmart and hit our neighbors car. It was an eventful night.
Sunday morning session Calls and Aubrie and crew had tickets to conference so it was quieter here. They all came back for lunch and then next session Calls stayed a bit for it and had to go to the airport. Aubrie and crew realized the frontrunner doesn't run on Sundays (ha) and Ryan and I took a trip to Provo to take them home and also went to MAriam and Joes and ate dinner with them and Liz and Jimmy who were in town and had all just got back from running the St. George marathon. L & J came home with us and the rest of Ryans siblings came over to see them (and Toby (Jay and Kaylas brand new Aussie doodle puppy) and Sandy could meet. THe Calls are just so warm and friendly and good. I loved all the interactions with them. Lucas and Jane got a long so well now that they are old enough. We didn't want any of them to leave.
And yes, we havea puppy and yes I have wanted to sell her everynight the last 3 nights when I have been the one up all night tryign to give Hallie a break from it. I hate not sleeping. She's pretty cute though.
