Madre Mia

What is happening?? Blake is a tease and being the fourth he's learned to hold his own. But he's so sweet to me and to clara I didn't know he had this mean streak to him. We went to his field day with coop preschool and first thing a mom tells me as all us moms are gathering " blake told Isaac he wasn't welcome at your house yesterday, etc wrc. ". I didn't know what to say because of the way she went about saying it. Then Macey is over in the sandbox crying 3 minutes later because blake through sand at her. I gave him one chance warning or we were going home. I hear Maceys  sister Lexi say she doesn't want to play with blake cause he's mean (which hurt my heart to hear) and then it was like blake set out to prove it today. He spit on his friend Isaac a few minutes later I hear Isaac telling it across the yard. So I scooped him up got his things, very awkwardly excused ourselves and totally offended one of the moms in doing it.

Fast forward till tonight blake comes home from another friend and hallie told me the mom got after him because he pinched her son. And she told him "people that are mean to her kids aren't welcome at their house."  Hallie brought him home cause she felt bad for blake. We talked about it and I told him no friends till we figure out a better plan. We go over to apologize to one of them tonight and after I talked to the mom and blake was playing with him and the next thing I know the boy is crying because blake said he hated him and he's stupid. This is on our apology walk.

I'm fuming.

I spent hours planning out an efficient garden one afternoon (I figured we are here to stay for awhile so I can keep my plans for a few years).  Lets hope it pays off.

Robbie's drama play at school

Our community helper day for preschool.  We took a trip to Uncle Mike's firestation.  It was awesome.  We saw them going down the fire pole, got the full tour, saw them race to get their gear on (45 seconds), pretend to shoot the hose, and drive the truck.

Moms: Katie, me, Sarah and not pictured, Karla.  And all our kids:))

Thank you Strider bike.  For helping Blake learn to ride a bike and for allowing ventilation in his shoes for the summer.

Our lights are up finally--we've been wanting to do it since last summer.  We LOVE our back porch eatery
Hallie had a friend birthday party last week.  she got to invite 7 girls since she turned seven.  We played games and had a pizza tea party.  But they spent most of their time painting geometric patterns on their canvases.

We biked about 8 miles to and from Wasatch Garden and Lawn Cemetery to visit Dodee and Papa's graves on Memorial Day.  Definitely the start of a tradition.

Aubrie as Pauline Phillips (Dear Abby) for the 5th grade wax museum.  They had to stay in character the whole time and they had their "pose", then when you push the "Press me" button they give a 1.5 minute explanation of who they are, what they have done to help/change America and some interesting facts about them.  It was REALLY cool!  She had the whole thing memorized and although her 50's hairdo we did came updone at recess she looked great!

Sick of fighting kids into seatbelts about 2 years ago we started a tradition that when every gets in the car I say each kids' name and they say "check" if there seatbelt is on.  Clara has picked up on it and it was the second word she says.  When I say her name instead of the kids answering she says "chk".  Adorable.

She took 4 steps on Friday night between Ryan and I's seats.  And now she won't do anything.  She just likes me to hold her. :)

Yesterday she woke up from her nap first and the kids were about to come home on the bus so I grabbed one of the popsicles that Blake and I had made earlier and sat on the porch with her while we waited.  I don't think she every even took it out of her mouth.  I enjoyed every minute of just staring at her and watching her enjoy this first time experience.  She is the most beautiful sweetheart girl and I am loving this stage of life she is at.
