Same old. same old. Every morning almost without exception Aubrie complains about doing her hair. It hurts. It looks boring (she has a different definition for boring). It takes too long. etc. etc. i did her hair this morning with twists in front and then two messy buns with the hair sprayed out on the sides. I wish I would've thought to take a picture so you have a visual. I think it looked so cute. She starts crying and carrying on about how it looks so boring (I think to her that means dumb). I continue getting myself ready, she's following me around telling me she looked like a penguin and she wanted me to do something different. I was only half paying attention. Finally I said, "Aubrie, why do you look like a penguin, tell me how in the world you look like a penguin..." "Mom, I just look like a penguin from Surfs Up"

Then the lights came on for me and I started laughing so hard. Where in the world does she come up with these things. I had to agree. She went to church with her hair different.

Visitors....they're the best.

Carl and Court came to raise us up from our lonely abyss after returning from Utah. And they are always a party. Carl and Court's favorite part of the visit was jogging with 4 kids in the 35 degree weather on ice. Mine was going to the indoor pool with lots of slides and areas for the kids. Either way, we love family and are so glad you came. This is one of two pictures we took all three days. Pretty cute one though. That Emma Jane is a cutie!
Then Tara decided to grace us with her presence a few days ago. She brought cookies and lots of hugs for the ninos and her quick wit and vast knowledge of a variety of subjects that make her so fun to talk to for Ryan and I. Love you Tara!
here we are solving many of the world's most important decisions.

This is Robbie about to hang Aubrie.
No, really, they love to play buckin' bronco and Aubrie is the bronco and that red ribbon are her reins. Its is quite entertaining to watch.

For MLK day Ryan and Aubrie had the day off. So we went to one of our favorite places--Stone Mountain--to hike.
Post hike (it actually turned out to be so nice, 70 degrees and sunny. yum!)
At the top, was super windy. Robbie hiked it by himself for the first time. Ryan and I were pretty proud of him. Aubrie was his biggest supporter all the way up.
My back was really proud of him too!

Tonight's Classic Aubrie conversation:

Aub, Rob and I are sitting on the couch reading a book before bed--Snow White actually. Its a classic. We are on page two, "The Queen was very beautiful, but she was cold and heartless. She was also very jealous of Snow White's beauty. So she dressed the Princess in rags and forced her to work as a maid"

Aubrie (interrupting): "Mom, whats a maid"?
Me: "uhhhh.....someone that has to clean the whole house and doesn't get paid squat"
Aubrie: "Oh (clarity has been reached here), like you mom."

yep.

oh boy (s)...

Today, I looked up from working on something outside to see Robbie walking back outside with some serious m.u.d. Oh Georgia red clay how I love you, let me count the ways...

It got better when I saw that the poor boy had trekked into the bathroom to "wash" the mud off his shoes--leaving a nice path of red footprints and a pool of orange on the bathroom floor, as well as used his toothbrush to clean his tennis shoes. Wonder where he learned that one... (we later had a discussion about which toothbrushes are okay for cleaning purposes. Only dad's :)

This is...Christmas and New Years

This is called Excited. Preparation for take off to Utah and Christmas time with lots of family.
This is called Funny. We (Jensens) all stayed up in a cabin in Midway and used the road going down the mountain for a really fast 2 minute sled run that was SO fun. Karen tried it once. and only once. Her and Randy won for most intense ride.

and crash. she had to be dug out of the snow.
Even a few (or many) midnight runs for those brave enough :) You cant tell from the picture but they are probably going about 25-30 MPH.
This is called Wierd. Just had to throw that out there. This is called Psycho. only Chad could make this addition. These dolls turn and move and their arms go up and down. Notice Mrs. Christmas Caroler psychopath.
This is called "Fun". Get up and sing solo with eyes covered and music blasting in your ear so loud you don't even KNOW how you sound. Haven't laughed that hard in a long time. I definitely was a "watching" participant. This is called Gross. About 18 of the 20 of us at the cabin were sick at some point during our 3 day stay. "We've fallen!" Whatever stomach virus that was, it was poderoso.
This is called Tender. I love Christmas Eve best of all. It is a sincere time to remember Jesus Christ and what His birth means to us. These kids were really cute.
This is called Exhilarating. Headed out to Utah Lake with motorcycle, 4-wheeler, one huge intense sled and lots of other sleds. Jared found a couple great jumps and we all LOVED it.
(this is Keri and I about to wet our pants watching how high Jared was on the 4-wheeler and knowing what was coming)
This is called Humorous. Jeff had a little snowball fight with his 3 yr old son. Took it to him. This is called Cute on the left. and "I live in Georgia and need some help in the winter department" on the right. This is called Scared. I've been ON one many times, but I have not driven any type of motorcycle since crashing one 10 years ago. Needless to say I was a little apprehensive. Yes, Im rockin' a Dolphins jacket. NDN.
This is called Dream Fulfillment (remember Trish and Maris?). I've been a little obsessed with Cosmo since day 1 of college at BYU. One time toward the end of my college career I chased him down on foot from the stadium to the RB. This trip I finally really met him. Ryan told him (?) the whole story. (with my luck Cosmo is probably a girl now and that was a really embarrassing story that Ryan told her).
This is called Loud. They are poor deprived children that had to go to bed BEFORE midnight. So they let it all out the New Years Day. For a long. long. time. But I was shopping so....

This is called Wonderful. Almost 2 weeks with the ones we love most.
